Senior Project Manager
Andrew is a Senior Project Manager in the Infrastructure Division at TRL and a Member of the Institute of Highway Engineers. He has over 20 years highway maintenance experience working for consultants and Local Authorities, both in the UK and overseas.
Andrew has an excellent understanding of Highway Asset Management Policies and has used various systems to manage and record data including most recently, Confirm EAM software. He has commissioned and managed various maintenance activities on the Highway network including patch repairs, road marking and drainage refurbishment, cyclic works (gully emptying, landscaping, road sweeping) and surface treatment programmes.
Prior to his career at TRL, Andrew held the position of Senior Highway Engineer at a Local Government Authority, providing input into the Highways Capital work programmes. In this position he was also responsible for reviewing the Authority’s Highway maintenance policies to ensure compliance with the Highways Act 1980, whilst referring to Codes of Practice such as Well-maintained Highways. He has also worked as a Highway Inspector, following the Local Authority’s Highway Maintenance policy and managing a Highway inspection team.
As part of his last role for a Local Authority (2010-16) Andrew managed the annual Highway inspection programme, responding to public enquiries and investigating incidents on the network. These investigations would include compiling reports on the incident and highway assets history and subsequently attending Court proceedings to explain the findings.
